Electromechanic Assistant
for the Utah Transit Authority, your responsibilities will include: Conducting various preventative maintenance inspections to ensure reliable service. Removing and replacing mechanical and electrical components on rail vehicles. Utilizing hand and power tools as directed. Assisting Electromechanics and other skilled employees with complex tasks such as overhauls, rebuilds, repairs, and troubleshooting on rail vehicles. Supporting training and competence verification for peers and less experienced employees. Compensation:
$26.52 - $30.52 per hour, with an additional $1.00 to $1.50 shift differential depending on the shift. Enjoy a structured four-year wage progression. Experience Required: A minimum of 2 years of related work experience or 1 year of technical school/training. High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of the Electromechanic Helper test. Ability to pass a limited LRV operation exam for safe train operation in the yard or shop. Competence with computer systems, including basic skills in Outlook. Capability to certify for operating forklift, crane, and other shop equipment. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical card. A valid Utah driver's license and a safe driving record with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years. No more than 1 DUI violation in the last 10 years. Provision of required tools, with an initial tool list provided on the first day of employment. Physical ability to perform job duties, including walking on uneven surfaces, lifting and carrying heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
