Psychiatry Physician - Academics Job with Baystate Health in Springfield, MA Join to apply for the Psychiatry Physician - Academics role at Baystate Health . Baystate Health is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Chair, Department of Psychiatry . This leadership role oversees behavioral health services across Baystate Health, including clinical management, strategic planning, academic programs, and quality initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Oversight: Lead management of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services, including inpatient psychiatry, consult services, integrated primary care, neuropsychology, and interventional psychiatry. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement departmental strategies aligned with Baystate Health's goals; serve as Chair at UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate. Academic Leadership: Oversee educational programs such as residency, fellowships, clerkships, and continuing education; manage departmental research. Financial Oversight: Collaborate on budgeting, monitor financial performance, and manage provider compensation. Quality Oversight: Ensure high-quality, evidence-based care and lead quality improvement initiatives. Reports to the Chief Physician Executive. Direct reports include Vice Chairs, Medical Directors, and Managers. Qualifications: M.D. or equivalent; board certified in Psychiatry. Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a large academic healthcare setting. Expertise in behavioral health, substance use disorder services, and psychiatry operations. Academic rank at least at the Associate Professor level. Strong financial management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Why Join Baystate Health?
