Position Summary & Responsibilities
*Located in Birmingham, Alabama*
The Vice President of Information Technology leads the digital process automation and IT support services teams. The role involves strategic planning to optimize people, processes, and platforms, ensuring efficient IT support services and seamless delivery to end-users. This position will operationalize business processes with technology integrations to drive value through efficiency and scalability, aligning digital process automation with the organization's goals.
Focus areas include ServiceNow platform, Microsoft 0365 support, and process automation for business workflows and document intelligence ML/AI. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, business and financial insight, technical proficiency, proactive initiative, and strong communication skills. They must work well with various groups and excel in a dynamic M&A environment.
Special focus will be placed on:
IT Leadership and Service Optimization: Leads, mentors, and recruits a team of IT professionals while fostering a high-performance culture. Create strategic and tactical operations, resource plans, goals, and organizational priorities based on business and IT roadmap. Business process automation utilizing platforms for workflows and document intelligence to transform unstructured data into structured data. IT Support Services across the company operating footprint in 12 states with a centralized cloud first model IT service management oversight proactively manages vendor relationships to optimize costs, mitigate risks, and ensure access to essential tools and services. Data architecture and data movement integrating with warehouse
Skillset/Experience
ServiceNOW platform Azure Data Factory, document Intelligence, and power platform for automation Automation management methodology: modular and component development mindset for maximum efficiency, scale, and costing Endpoint Technology Management: Oversee the deployment, management, and support of endpoint technology devices, ensuring they meet the needs of our workforce. Video Conferencing Technology: Lead the implementation and continuous optimization of video conferencing to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration across the organization while working from anywhere mindset. Innovation and Forward-Thinking: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with technology vendors and partners, ensuring the organization receives the best value and service. Budget Management: Develop and manage the automation and support services technology budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Telecoms Management: responsible for telecoms billing and accurate BI data reporting. Collaborate on plans and costing across organizational stakeholders. Owner Relations Call Center: providing business support to royalty owners in oil and gas Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and ensure technology solutions meet their requirements. Support Organization Management: Oversee the management of the support organization, including onsite and remote support of offices and the 24x7 Helpdesk availability. Ensure support services are efficient, responsive, and aligned with the organization's needs. Collaboration within the Technology Organization: Work with peers to continuously improve the tools and services in the Technology Organization and align with the workforce needs and experience.
Position Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent technology degree is required. A minimum of 15 years of experience in Information Technology with at least 5 years in leadership roles Subject matter expertise level experience working with Microsoft platforms and services. ServiceNow product ownership within an Enterprise environment Experience working with scripting languages PowerShell, Python, etc Experience and understanding of data models and integrations Strong technical background with a history of working across multiple technologies across various domains including security, endpoint management, messaging and collaborative, support services, audio visual, telecoms, and automation. The ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate that to non-technical users. A strong understanding of how to apply security across owned technology and processes in collaboration with cyber team
