Overview
Handsome Homebuyer is expanding! We’re launching a new real estate brokerage concept guaranteed to change the industry, and we’re looking for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to build and scale this brokerage from the ground up.
Handsome Homebuyer is Long Island’s #1 purchaser of single-family homes with over 700+ transactions to date. We are now taking our best-in-class strategy and applying that to the real estate brokerage space in an effort to shatter the status quo and reshape a tired industry.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the foundation of a brand-new brokerage, starting with residential real estate and expanding into commercial. The right candidate will be the integrator, connecting the owner with operations, compliance, hiring, and overall strategy.
If you’re entrepreneurial, highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrive in a startup culture, this could be your perfect role.
What You’ll Do
Help Build & Scale the Brokerage – Take ownership of launching operations, from compliance to hiring to structuring agent commissions.
Develop SOPs & Processes – Create workflows, systems, and policies to ensure smooth brokerage operations.
Compliance & Paperwork Management – Ensure all transactions, contracts, and real estate processes meet legal and industry standards.
Recruit & Hire Key Staff – Conduct research, interviews, and onboarding for future team members.
Bridge the Gap Between Vision & Execution – Work closely with the owner to bring the company’s vision to life while keeping operations running seamlessly.
Oversee Day-to-Day Operations – Manage internal workflows, oversee agent onboarding, and maintain high operational efficiency.
Maintain a Boutique Brokerage Model – Ensure only select agents meet commission standards and gain access to company resources.
Balance Optimism with Directness – Be detail-oriented, process-driven, and confrontational when necessary to keep things on track.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Real Estate Brokerage Experience (preferred but not needed)– Prior leadership role in a brokerage or real estate firm.
Not a Traditional Brokerage Mindset – We’re doing things differently, and we need someone who understands compliance, operations, and strategy without rigid industry constraints.
Entrepreneurial Spirit – An ownership mentality who thrives in startup-like environments and enjoys creating from scratch but prefers to work in an existing business rather than start their own.
Detail-Oriented & Highly Organized – Able to manage multiple moving parts while keeping everything structured.
Ability to Research & Problem-Solve – Proactively identify challenges and implement solutions.
Strong Leadership & Communication – Must be able to take charge, make strategic decisions, and hold others accountable.
Benefits
Why Join Us?
Build Something from the Ground Up – Play a foundational role in launching a brand-new brokerage.
Innovative Brokerage Model – Work in a boutique-style firm with a unique model and resource structure.
Growth Potential – Start with residential, expand into commercial, and help scale the company.
Competitive Compensation – Base salary + performance bonuses.
Direct Access to Leadership – Work side by side with the owner to bring this vision to life.
