President & CEO of Retail Real Estate Platform | InLight Capital | Houston, TX About Us InLight Capital is a private investment firm with a retail real estate portfolio seeking an experienced leader to manage and grow the retail platform. With over 50 properties in our current base, we are strategically positioned for significant expansion through acquisitions and build-to-suit investments, backed by substantial internal capital. Role Overview We are seeking a seasoned real estate executive to lead our retail real estate platform, driving strategic growth initiatives while optimizing the performance of our existing portfolio. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in retail real estate, asset management, leasing strategy and development oversight. Key Responsibilities Provide strategic direction and leadership for our retail real estate platform Manage and mentor a goal-oriented team of real estate and investment professionals Develop and execute retail acquisition strategies to expand our portfolio Oversee build-to-suit development, ground-up construction, and value-add repositioning projects Optimize performance of existing assets through asset management best practices and operational efficiency Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including national retail tenants, leasing brokers, developers, and industry partners Implement best practices in leasing, property management, and financial operations Collaborate with internal investment, finance, and construction teams to align strategies with company objectives Qualifications 15+ years of commercial real estate experience, with specific focus on retail property acquisition, development, and asset management Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams Scrappy, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to source deals, underwrite investments, and execute efficiently Strong understanding of retail market trends, site selection, and tenant mix strategies Experience with real estate transactions, due diligence, and capital deployment Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills Outstanding communication and relationship-building capabilities Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related advanced degree preferred Location This position is based in the Houston, TX area.
