Registered Nurse - NICU
Washington, DC
Pay From: $40 per hour
MUST:
2+ years of Registered Nurse experience
1+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the NICU
Must have a current DC license
Must have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
DUTIES:
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Demonstrates knowledge of pathophysiology for common neonatal disorders
Performs clinical nursing duties for neonates and infants according to policy and procedures
Maintains patient individualized standards of care
Performs neonatal assessment and provides appropriate interventions
Recognizes and responds promptly and appropriately to acute changes in neonate/infant's condition
Responds appropriately to emergency situations in NICU and other hospital departments.
Recognizes developmental stages of neonates and infants and provides appropriate support to maximize infant's developmental outcome
Provides support and teaching to the family unit
Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team utilizing verbal and written skills
Demonstrates effective leadership abilities in clinical situations
Administers medication following policy and procedure demonstrating the 5 rights and knowledge of pharmacokinetics
