Job Title: Engineer - Robotic Welding
Company: Davico Inc.
Davico Mfg. is a leading manufacturer of direct fit catalytic converters for the automotive aftermarket, with a rich history of excellence since 1987. Davico Mfg. has a full complement of metal forming equipment including HAAS VF-5 machining centers, multiple CNC tube benders, CNC HD plasma cutting tables, waterjet cutter, various end forming equipment, and robotic welding cells. Davico continues to strive to improve operations through Lean Manufacturing principles and automation efforts.
An engineer skilled in programming and operating robotic welding stations, with a focus on solving problems.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
- At least 5 years in at least one of the following areas:
- Robotic weld cell operation
- CNC Machining operation or programming
- Automation programming or operation
- Lean Manufacturing implementation leadership (not just participation)
- Management experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in metal forming equipment, welding equipment, or CNC metal cutting equipment is highly advantageous.
DESIRED PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Candidate must be comfortable with problem solving and working independently. Must be able to work with the fixture team and communicate clearly. Candidate will have to undertake return on investment analysis as we develop processes. Welding experience is preferred but not required. Candidate will understand goal setting and quantifying process.
SPAN OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate will initially be developing procedures and operating 4-station, dual welding robot cells. Candidate must have strong communication skills and problem-solving skills, preferably using Lean Manufacturing methods. Welding target parts using to double standard productivity.
Davico Mfg. welding robot cells are equipped with Scalable Robot programming which includes pendant touch programming and scanning system. Candidate will be expected to help with fixturing as needed, program parts for welding, give feedback on error proofing, and operate 4 station welding cells.

COMPENSATION:
A competitive hourly rate is provided, commensurate with the responsibilities of the position, accomplishments, and contributions of the candidate.

REPORTS TO:
The Candidate reports directly to the Operations Manager.

- Skills in Machine Operation and Machinery
- Experience in Quality Control and Communication
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Prior experience in automation or robotics is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
