$20.00/hr - $23.00/hr The Street Outreach Specialist
is responsible for overall monitoring of program operations, ensuring accurate and consistent data collection and analysis for reporting, and contributing to program development and enhancement. Principle duties occur in the field, on the streets, where homeless and at-risk youth gather, with some duties performed at Bridge headquarters. Street outreach involves engaging with people experiencing homelessness outside of agency walls, who may be disconnected from mainstream services and supports, as well as specialized services for homeless persons. Your work as a Street Outreach Specialist will focus on: Regularly assessing the “street scene” to maintain up-to-date information on where homeless youth gather, including overnight camps in and around Boston, and ensuring outreach visits to changing locations. Working with a team of Outreach Specialists, participating in regular street patrols, building relationships with street youth, and referring them to Bridge or other agencies as needed. Assessing the needs of street youth, providing on-street crisis counseling, and other services to ensure their safety. Collaborating with the Bridge Medical Van Coordinator at Medical Van locations and facilitating youth connections to the Van. Maintaining effective communication channels between SOP partners, including the Boston Homeless Shelter Commission, Pine Street Inn Outreach Van, local Police Department, adult homeless shelters, and other agencies involved in street outreach. Documenting service statistics and records for accurate reporting and data entry into the Bridge ETO system and Boston HMIS. Qualifications
