The Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a key position within the council’s leadership team. The CDO provides leadership to the Fund Development and Marketing teams and serves as a strategic organizational leader who works closely with the board of directors, chief executive officer and leadership team to develop and implement strategies for increasing public awareness and support for Girl Scouts within the state of Nebraska. Required Skills / Abilities : Demonstrated leadership and management ability Strategic thinker with proven ability to achieve organizational goals Strong organizational and planning skills Works well under pressure, meeting deadlines consistently Must display high integrity Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and exceptional customer service skills Self-motivated, and able to work well both independently and cooperatively Proficiency with donor management systems, e.g., ETapestry Possess strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of attention to detail Clean driving record and insurable in accordance with Girl Scouts insurance policy Education and Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of nonprofit fundraising required Minimum of 3+ years of management experience required Physical Requirements : The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to withstand : Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Operate office equipment manually. Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds at times.
