Full-time Job Summary:
The Program Director is responsible for all aspects of The Children’s Center Visitation Programs, including the Teen and Pre-Teen Program, Upstate and Overnight Program, Holiday Program, and special events. Responsibilities include coordinating visitation and meetings between children and their parents, advocacy calls with guardians, and liaising with schools. Duties and Responsibilities: Manage enrollment for the Teen and Upstate Programs. Plan and oversee visitation components of the programs. Collaborate with the Playroom Coordinator for activity execution. Complete DOCCS paperwork in a timely manner. Outreach to local volunteers and vendors for meal planning. Identify and coordinate enrichment opportunities for mothers and children. Support and update the “Mothers of Adolescents” parenting class curriculum. Design agendas for community mothers’ meetings and co-facilitate them. Provide advocacy phone calls to help mothers maintain contact with guardians and schools. Maintain thorough records of program participants and activities. Oversee admission and discharge from the program as required. Attend mandatory DOCCS trainings. Provide support for Holiday, Summer, and Special Event Programs. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Successful completion of background investigation by DOCCS is required. Education: BA or BS or 4-5 years of relevant experience in a non-profit social service organization. Experience and Training: Strong interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills. Leadership qualities. Experience in a prison setting is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to walk up/down stairs and throughout the facility.
