Role Description:
Mabaya Group is seeking a talented Non-Fiction Writer to create compelling and well-researched content across various subjects, including history, business, self-improvement, and current events. The ideal candidate has strong research skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to craft engaging, factual narratives for diverse audiences.
This is a remote freelance contract role, open to candidates based in Brooklyn, New York, and eligible to work in the United States.
Responsibilities:
Research and write well-structured, factual content for books, articles, essays, and digital platforms. Verify sources and ensure accuracy in all written materials. Collaborate with editors and content strategists to refine and enhance storytelling. Adapt writing style to match different tones and audiences, from educational to journalistic. Manage multiple writing projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards. Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
2+ years of experience in professional writing, journalism, or content creation. Strong research, fact-checking, and storytelling skills. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, engaging narratives. Excellent command of grammar, style, and structure in written English. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, History, Communications, or a related field. Must be based in Brooklyn, New York, and eligible to work in the United States. Preferred Skills:
Experience writing non-fiction books, essays, or long-form investigative articles. Familiarity with SEO best practices for digital content. Ability to interview experts and incorporate primary sources into content. Knowledge of publishing processes and self-publishing platforms. Compensation & Job Type:
Freelance, Contract (Paid) – Competitive per-word or per-project rates based on experience. Estimated Pay Range: $0.10 – $1.00 per word or $500 – $5,000 per project, depending on length and complexity.
