Euclid Ave., Bay City, MI 48706.Job Summary:Working for Michigan Sugar's Packaging Warehouse department will involve machinist and tool and die maker certified skills. Employee and customer safety will always be a primary function while performing a wide variety of tasks in an (SQF) safe quality food production environment. This requires skills as a leader and team player participating in installation, repairs, production flow, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.Primary Responsibilities: Running Machine shop Equipment and creating along with reading blueprints on Auto Cad. Maintain existing along with upgrading or adding new equipment parts. Working alongside mechanics or individually on mechanical issues. Documenting Part changes and Equipment Upgrades. Ordering of supplies and Tooling For The Machine Shop. Maintain existing along with upgrading or adding new mechanical equipment/machinery. Determining and applying appropriate measuring equipment and gauges to verify work done. Setup and operate typical tool room equipment such as but not limited to manual mill and lathe.Position Qualifications: Qualified Journeyman Card or Completion of Machinist or Tool and Die Program Minimum 3- 5 years Tool/die maker or Machinist Experience. Industrial experience, including knowledge in running a mill and lathe, CNC Milling Machine. Machine Repair ability and 3-5 years of experience. Ability to perform physically demanding work in hot and cold environments.Key Competencies: Ability to quickly problem solve and make decisions. Accept overtime is structured into this position. Demonstrated personal leadership and positive can-do attitude. Flexible and able to work in fast paced and varying environments. Use of internet to research, order and track parts for delivery. Communicate issues and solutions with every shift to ensure smooth hand off. Provides model behavior to demonstrate corporate value.
