PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Transportation and Bus Driver Supervisor, the Dispatcher is responsible for any assignments made to him/her with particular emphasis on those listed below.
QUALIFICATIONS: TEA certification requirements High School Graduate or GED Effective communication skills Knowledgeable in bus routes Knowledgeable in field trip assignments and procedures Certified bus driver with CDL Knowledge relating to safety issues
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: • Assign buses from routes, mid-days, and trips as necessary. • To ensure that all field trips are properly staffed. • To ensure that all field trips are properly carried out. • To monitor the two-way radio system. • To monitor routes and field trips. • To train drivers on use of two-way radios. • To drive a school bus as needed. • Maintain all binders and keys at all times • Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. • Performs other related duties as assigned.
