General Statement of Duties:
The Garden Assistant helps to facilitate an outdoor garden classroom for Worcester State University (WSU) students, to learn about growing, nature and sustainable living as they care for the garden. Specific duties include:
Assist in helping to maintain the garden, weeding, planting, watering and taking care of the facility Prepare outdoor garden classroom space for learning, including the maintenance of materials, supplies and tools related to the outdoor garden classroom Provide an educational, caring and safe environment for students and summer groups Work collaboratively with Garden Manager and UAI Staff to communicate the needs of the outdoor garden classroom Assist with other organizational activities that promote the garden and the UAI
Requirements: Experience of urban gardening, farming or related experience Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). Motivated, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
