PICU RN – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Travel Nurse Job in Marshfield, Wisconsin

Seeking an experienced PICU RN for a 13-week locum tenens travel nursing assignment in Marshfield, Wisconsin (zip code 54449). PICU RN Job Details – Marshfield, WI

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (locum tenens contract)
• Start Date: August 25, 2025
• End Date: November 24, 2025
• Healthcare Setting: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2360 - $2420
• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to Pediatrics as needed
• Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
• Unit Size: 8 beds, average daily census of 4
  
  

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU RN experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS and PALS certifications (AHA required)
• Experience in trauma level II facility preferred
• Proficiency with bedside shift reporting (BSSR), AIDET communication, and hourly rounding
• Ability to float to Pediatric unit as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  
  

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, family-centered care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
• Perform and manage advanced clinical skills including sedation, trach care, intubation, NAVA, Vapotherm, CRRT (minimal), ICP/Bolts, and ventilator management
• Monitor and manage central lines, arterial lines, and other invasive devices
• Administer medications and blood products, manage acute and chronic renal failure, and respond to rapid changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and social services
• Utilize AIDET communication for excellent patient and family interactions
• Participate in bedside shift reporting, hourly rounding, and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Float to Pediatric unit as needed to support patient care
