Job Description
The Senior Research Analyst role will collaborate closely with other members of the research team to assist brokers on research needs, produce recurring and custom research content, and work on data collection and database management. The role will report to the Mid-Atlantic Research Director. Research duties will cover the Washington, D.C. metro, including the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia, and Suburban Maryland. This role offers some geographic flexibility with occasional meetings in Tysons, but the ideal candidate will be based in Newmark’s downtown D.C. office. Responsibilities
Contribute to a growing research platform covering all asset types in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Maintain data integrity and analyze proprietary and third-party resources to create market-leading insight and client deliverables. Participate in establishing procedures for acquiring and managing real estate market data. Support presentations, pitches, and whitepapers with original analysis and creative insights. Understand all research-related data sources including but not limited to tax record information, ownership and lender information, and occupier databases. Participate in evaluating new resources and existing products. Track and analyze data in support of global, regional, and local research initiatives. Promote the research function and its capabilities to the brokers/sales staff, including trainings on new resources. Mentor, train, and coach more junior research staff members. May perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Skills, Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Economics, Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning or Business Administration 4+ years of relevant working experience Ability to identify trends and create reports Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills Ability to digest complex data or concepts into understandable, concise content Experience with data entry and database management Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in other MS Office programs Demonstrated client interaction Experience with CoStar, Real Capital Analytics, Reonomy, Trepp, Jobs EQ and REIS a plus Working knowledge of commercial real estate research a plus Experience with PowerBI and/or Python a plus Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment Salary : $90,000 - $105,000 annually The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
