Overview
McPherson College is seeking a Director of Track and Field and Cross Country with the proven ability to manage successful programs. This individual will be responsible for daily management, instruction, and administration of all phases of the Track and Field and Cross-Country programs in accordance with all NAIA, KCAC, and McPherson College regulations. Specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:
- Instructing on practice, game preparation, and strategy;
- Hiring, supervising, and leading a quality coaching staff;
- Recruitment of prospective student-athletes;
- Retention of student-athletes and monitoring their academic progress;
- Preparation and oversight of budget;
- Community outreach;
- Program-specific and departmental fundraising.
The successful candidate must possess and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, a strong work ethic, and self-motivation, as well as the ability and willingness to be a positive role model, department member, and representative of the college.
Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred; three years of collegiate coaching experience required. This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position that reports to the Athletic Director. This is a 12-month position.
