Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining the safety, quality, cost, work order completion, and improvement of the assigned work centers on multiple shifts.
Directly responsible for supervising production operators (regular and temporary), production leads, and raw material coordinator across multiple shifts.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring Personal Protective Equipment is worn, work instructions are followed, and proper paperwork is completed in a timely manner in case of an accident. Perform and maintain up-to-date HSO (Hazard Sign Off) Audits on all employees in assigned area across multiple shifts.
- Ensure quality of CDI products & processes to assure that components and finished goods meet drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Train employees (regular and temporary) on the correct and safe operation of setups, changeovers, and production run equipment according to work instructions.
- Schedule and direct factory personnel to improve department run rates and company gross profit across multiple shifts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work cells and personal work area to ensure a high-quality, efficient workplace.
- Complete employee performance reviews on time to provide all employees with timely information regarding their performance.
- Demonstrate the ability to supervise a variety of employees to provide a professional and productive working atmosphere across multiple shifts.
- Participate fully in the employee selection process such as interviews and disciplinary actions to maintain high employee performance and effectiveness.
- Work in other buildings or areas as assigned to help achieve company goals and objectives.
- Approve and verify operators' hours worked in a timely manner for payroll processing.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 4 years supervisory or management experience, preferably in a culturally diverse work environment.
- Up-to-date First Aid/CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Kanban.
- Computer experience—Word, Excel, and other Office applications, MRP.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with ESL employees.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, functions, and priorities.
- Strong mechanical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
People Management Responsibilities
Be able to supervise 5 to 75 employees depending on the season, including Leads, Team Captains, Production Specialists, Machine Operators, and Raw Material Coordinators.
Signatory Authority
This person has the authorization to correct and approve Employee Hours for payroll, Hazard Sign Offs, Incident reports, work instructions, Temporary Invoices, Corrective Action, and Performance Reviews. This person may sign off on Expense and Maintenance purchases based on the Plant Manager's approval.
Physical Requirements
The person in this position will spend a large portion of working time in the manufacturing environment, which could include high levels of noise and temperature. The person may need to run shop equipment and production machinery and must accept the inherent difficulties of doing so, including repetitive motion, standing for a shift, and lifting and moving heavy objects.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
