Position Overview:
The Benefits Support Associate plays a central role in our mission by guiding clients through the
public benefit enrollment process. This role requires strong knowledge of government programs and excellent client service.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Outreach & Enrollment:
Conduct outbound calls to assist clients with benefit eligibility and enrollment (Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, Essential Plan, SNAP, etc.).
Address questions about coverage, documentation, and deadlines.
Follow up on open or incomplete applications via phone or, when necessary, in person.
Documentation & Systems:
Ensure accurate data entry into CRMs and internal systems.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in member eligibility records.
Respond promptly to complaints, state eligibility letters, and internal escalations.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Monitor complex or high-risk enrollment issues and escalate appropriately.
Recommend and support process and workflow improvements.
Comply with all ACA regulations and applicable federal/state/local guidelines.
Community Engagement:
Represent BeneStream at healthcare fairs and community events.
Stay informed on benefit program changes, trends, and best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
Customer Service Excellence:
Friendly and empathetic communicator with the ability to guide members clearly and patiently.
Collaboration:
Experience working with interpreters, brokers, and agencies.
Technical & Analytical Skills:
Proficient with CRM platforms, Excel, Mailchimp (or similar tools), and GSuite/Microsoft Office.
High attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot enrollment-related issues.
Analytical mindset:
Ability to generate and interpret internal reports to drive decision-making and improvement.
Education & Experience
Prior experience in client-facing roles with measurable accountability.
Deep knowledge of Medicaid, CHIP, Medicare, and similar benefit programs (required).
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
AHIP certification required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
