Navy Medical Center San Diego Naval Medical Center San Diego also known as Bob Wilson Naval Hospital and informally referred to as "Balboa Hospital ", is a technologically advanced Navy medical treatment facility. Located within the grounds of Balboa Park in San Diego, the hospital has played a role in the history of San Diego for more than 100 years. The goal has remained constant, to provide the finest medical care in a family-centered care environment to operational forces, their families, and veterans. Organizationally, the hospital is first and foremost a military command.

Internal Medicine Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
The Internal Medicine Physician provides medical services within the defined scope of clinical privileges and contractual obligations. Review patient consultations, medical records, and physical assessments to assess suitability for various assignments or duties. Review electronic medical reports and results, enter progress notes, and utilize electronic systems for patient management. Analyze medical conditions based on diverse evaluations and reports, integrating findings into comprehensive clinical assessments. The Internal Medicine Physician provides appropriate consultations and referrals for further diagnosis and treatment. Conduct Independent Medical Reviews (IMRs) upon request. Participate in committees and administrative tasks as required. The Internal Medicine Physician performs other duties consistent with the responsibilities of a physician as directed by the relevant authority. Internal Medicine Physician - REQUIREMENTS
Possess one year of experience within the last two years as a physician or internal medicine setting OR have successfully completed the Family Practice or Internal Medicine residency program within one year to applying for this position. Shall have a degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.). Must be a Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. Must be board certified OR board eligible in Internal Medicine. Must have and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. Must have and maintain BLS through AHA.
