Overview: The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions within assigned sections and assumes all Housekeeping Manager duties in their absence.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect Room Attendant’s work performance daily to ensure standards and productivity are maintained.
- In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager or Assistant, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
- Oversee the closing of floors at day’s end, ensuring carts are clean and stocked.
- Complete and submit daily assignment records to the Housekeeping Office on time.
- Maintain key control procedures.
- Manage 'Lost and Found' items according to standards.
- Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, control closets, stairways, and landings.
- Assign daily duties to Room Attendants and House Attendants.
- Maintain communication via pager/radio with Front Office and Engineering during shifts.
- Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
- Initiate and follow up on work orders for repairs and maintenance.
- Assist in training Housekeeping staff.
- May need to clean rooms as needed.
- Ensure biannual cleaning projects are completed.
- Strive to ensure overall guest satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework helpful.
- Two to three years of progressive hotel or related experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Ability to stand throughout shift.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, friendly and courteous attitude.
