We are seeking an engineering student to join our Foot and Ankle R&D team for an Engineering internship during Summer, 2025.Foot & Ankle products include:Implantable Plate & Screw systems for hindfoot, midfoot & ankle applicationsSoft tissue, allograft & biologics solutionsBiocomposite resorbable implantsSurgical instrumentsAs Foot & Ankle

R&D - Intern , in New Product Development, you will work with cross-functional teams to identify the needs and the goals of future products. You will learn alongside seasoned professionals through hands-on application of engineering principles and methodologies You will research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations. Along with your technical education, your efforts in problem solving, creative thinking and cross-functional collaboration will enable you to design new products, contribute to the team's R&D projects and initiatives to take them from concept to production.The Intern's responsibilities will include:Assist in inventing / creating concepts and designs/approaches for new technologies & productsCreate and evaluate prototype designs, on actual projects & programsPerform design verification and validationWork with a cross-functional team to develop new test methods and protocolsExecute required Quality Management System (QMS) documentationThis internship position requires a driven problem solver, passion for hands-on work in a lab setting, comfortability with working in a fast-paced environment and a responsible team player who can think creatively while keeping business objectives front of mind. If you enjoy research and exploration, analysis, and like to work with your hands, we invite you to apply to this summer internship!Position Requirements:Pursing completion of a bachelor's or master's degree, with a focus on mechanical engineering, biomechanical engineering, engineering mechanics, or equivalent, with BSME & Biomedical engineering preferredMust be available to work onsite out of the Memphis, TN facility (6000 Poplar Ave., Suite 115 Memphis, TN 38119) throughout the summer internship program (May 19 - August 8, 2025) Position is 40 hours / week, M-FExperience in SolidWorks and/or CREO CAD SoftwareExpected travel 0-20%Please note: if relocating to Memphis for the opportunity, it will be at your own expense.Preferred Qualifications:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflowVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasmAbility to exercise independent judgmentProficient on basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPointProven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlinesStrong interpersonal skillsExperience working in a regulated industry (e.g. Medical Device, Aerospace) is a plusCumulative 3.0 GPA or aboveThis position is not eligible for employer-visa sponsorship.
