Fuse Metal, a division of King Retail Solutions, is a Eugene, Oregon-based custom metal fabrication job shop, specializing in sheet metal fabrication and finishing. Our main objective is to deliver parts or assemblies to spec in the shortest lead time in the industry. We are looking for a Metal Estimator-Programmer. Position Summary: The Metal Estimator/Programmer works with our Metal Fabrication Sales team to quickly and accurately estimate production costs and lead times for our custom metal processing services. This position will also program various metal processing equipment such as CNC lasers and press brakes. The Metal Estimator-Planner works Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm onsite in Eugene, Oregon. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Review customer requests and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements, and quickly evaluate whether a project is a good fit for our capabilities and expertise. Help guide and coach customers towards sound design and manufacturing choices, suggesting lower cost or higher quality options where they exist. Work bring additional value to projects, offering additional services and processes when available. Determine the processes, materials, and outsourced services necessary to complete a project. Prepare a detailed production plan, including material and processing estimates. Provide a detailed quote to the customer and follow up as needed to secure the business. Use CAD-CAM software to program metal processing equipment to accurately cut and form parts. Use 3D Modelling and CAD software to provide supplemental drawings to the shop when needed. Visit new and existing customers to evaluate needs, review bids, solicit new business and review first articles. Support manufacturing by providing changes or updates as requested or as is necessary. Strive for continuous improvement using sound, data driven strategies. Requirements Knowledge Skills and other Abilities: Previous planning/estimating experience preferred. Previous experience programming CNC sheet processing equipment such as laser, punches, and press brakes preferred. Solidworks or Inventor 3D modelling experience preferred. Ability to read and develop technical drawings, models, and manufacturing information. Basic to intermediate knowledge of GD&T and welding symbols. Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and records management required. Work collaboratively with both internal and external customers, communicating effectively at the appropriate technical level. Ability to develop and follow a plan to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Excellent file management skills. Strong organizational skills to maintaining an orderly and productive work area. Experience with MS Excel and MRP systems is desired. Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; AA or Bachelors degree; Two to four years of related experience.
