Overview
Senior Manager, Program Management
Works under the administrative direction of the General Manager, with minimum supervision. Leads team of project managers, who are responsible for the development and management of new and current programs with customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for delivery of Program Key Performance Indicators: Budget, On Time Delivery, Program Margin
Applies formal program management frameworks and methodologies
Be the single point of ownership for Program delivery
Team Leadership and Mentoring
Determine staffing for program management team
Establish and drive performance expectations for program managers, while providing guidance, mentorship and support
Conduct performance reviews and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and best practices.
Process Improvement and Standardization
Establish and maintain program management best practices, including standardized processes & templates.
Customer Relationship Management
Oversee and manage relationships with own designated customer base and provide support as needed to program managers with
their
designated customers
Act as an escalation point for complex customer issues or high priority projects.
Internal Point of Contact
Serve as the primary liaison between Program Managers and other cross functional teams.
Develop and maintain a unified plan for all commercial programs
Facilitate regular meetings between program management and operations teams as appropriate to ensure alignment.
Results Management
Establish key performance metrics to measure both performance of program managers and customer project execution
Review financial results of programs and where deviations from plan, drive root cause and corrective actions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required, master’s degree preferred.
8 or more years of related experience in project/program management.
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) strongly preferred.
Broad knowledge of a technically specialized field, such as manufacturing or engineering.
Demonstrated ability working collaboratively where directives and tasks can change frequently.
