We are seeking a permanent Controller to join our team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, budgeting, and financial activities of our organization. This role is integral to the financial health and growth of our company. The position requires a hands-on, proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously and has a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all accounting, financial, and regulatory standards, and will play a key role in the company's strategic planning and financial forecasting processes.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting.
  2. Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  3. Implement and manage financial controls and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulations.
  4. Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting and planning process.
  5. Manage and oversee the company's tax planning and compliance with all federal, state, and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
  6. Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  7. Oversee the company's risk management and insurance programs.
  8. Coordinate and manage the audit process, working closely with external auditors and company management.
  9. Implement, manage, and maintain the company's financial systems, including CRM and ERP systems.
  10. Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial management role, preferably in the construction industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles and procedures.
  4. Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and inventory management.
  5. Proficiency in using financial software and systems, including CRM and ERP systems.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
