Job Details:

Our company, a leading entity in the finance industry, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Controller for Property Accounting in our Commercial Property Accounting department. This role is perfect for an individual who loves the challenge and excitement of a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties, including office, retail, and industrial assets.

Responsibilities:

As a Permanent Controller in Property Accounting, you will be responsible for:

1. Managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties.
2. Overseeing the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities.
4. Coordinating with property management teams to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
5. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures, including those related to Yardi and MRI systems.
6. Leading and mentoring a team of property accountants.
7. Liaising with external auditors and tax consultants for annual audits and tax filings.
8. Assisting with special projects, including system implementations and process improvements.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. CPA or CMA designation is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial property accounting.
4. Proficiency in Yardi and MRI software.
5. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements for commercial properties.
6. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
