Job Details

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all aspects of civil litigation, from initiation through discovery and trial, with an emphasis on complex contractual disputes in the engineering industry.
  2. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
  3. Conduct comprehensive legal discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document production.
  4. Provide legal counsel to management on a wide variety of issues, including risk management, contract interpretation, and compliance with laws, regulations, and court decisions.
  5. Represent the company in court proceedings, arbitration, and mediation sessions.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external counsel and manage their work in litigation matters.
  7. Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and its operations in the engineering industry.

Qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Civil Litigation Attorney, preferably in the engineering industry.
  3. Extensive experience in civil litigation, legal discovery, and drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  4. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Proficient in legal research and writing, with an emphasis on civil procedure, contract law, and dispute resolution.
  7. Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing with the state bar association.
  8. High level of professional ethics and integrity.
  9. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  10. Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence decision-making processes.
  11. Proficient in the use of legal software and technology.
