An established national law firm is looking for an Associate with 4-7 years of experience to join our Houston team. The ideal candidate must be licensed to practice in Texas and should have a background in commercial litigation, along with either experience or a strong interest in construction law. We are seeking individuals with excellent research, writing, communication, and oral advocacy abilities, as well as solid experience in managing discovery and pretrial work.

Are you a seasoned legal professional with a passion for construction litigation? Our firm is seeking a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be tasked with handling a variety of complex construction litigation cases, providing top-notch legal counsel, and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  1. Representing clients in all aspects of construction litigation, including contract disputes, construction defects, delay and disruption claims, and insurance coverage issues.
  2. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents related to construction litigation.
  3. Conducting legal research and drafting legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  4. Managing all aspects of the discovery process, including taking and defending depositions, propounding and responding to discovery requests, and preparing for and attending court hearings and trials.
  5. Providing legal advice and consultation to clients on a variety of construction-related matters.
  6. Collaborating with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure effective case management.
  7. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry trends that impact construction litigation.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
  2. Admission to the State Bar and in good standing.
  3. A minimum of 4-7 years of experience in construction litigation or commercial litigation with a desire to focus and develop a construction focused practice.
  4. Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
  5. Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  6. Strong negotiation skills and experience in dispute resolution.
  7. Experience in civil litigation, including managing the discovery process and trial preparation.
  8. Familiarity with legal case management and legal contract review.
  9. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and team members.
  10. Demonstrated ability to manage a high caseload while maintaining high-quality work product.
  11. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
