We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Production Operations Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This exciting role offers the opportunity to lead and manage the production operations of our shipping and packaging department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring that all safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of our shipping and packaging production units to ensure that all activities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production units, identifying areas for improvement and implementing innovative solutions.
  • Ensure that all production activities comply with health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure the smooth running of the production units.
  • Monitor production metrics and KPIs, reporting on performance and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Manage the budget for the production units, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role.
  • A strong understanding of production processes and operations management principles.
  • Proven experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing operational efficiencies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety, with a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and standards.
  • A degree in a relevant field, such as business management or engineering, would be advantageous.
