Job Details:
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our vibrant team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax accounting and compliance within our organization. This includes managing tax reporting, implementing tax strategies to optimize business operations, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the company's tax planning, compliance, and reporting functions.
- Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
- Manage the preparation and review of tax returns and ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filing.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Coordinate audits by various taxation authorities.
- Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues.
- Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities and on the potential for litigation.
- Review tax accruals and reconciliations.
- Lead and coordinate ad-hoc tax-driven business initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
- Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
- Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with major tax preparation software.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Analytical skills with detail orientation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven track record of solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of business variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
