General Description:
The Quality Assurance Inspector is an hourly, non-exempt, mid-level position that reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor.The Quality Assurance Inspector is required to review products for compliance to drawing and specification requirements throughout the manufacturing operation.This position requires a strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.Visual acuity equivalent to Jaeger 1and 20/40 minimum vision, corrected or uncorrected, is required.
Primary Responsibilities:
Perform visual, dimensional, and 1st article inspections on rubber and composite componentsGenerate and assemble document packages for shipment of productMonitor calibration cycles of process and test equipmentMaintain clean and organized work area and filesControl and maintain inspection suppliesSupport quality assurance functions throughout the facilityEducation and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalentTechnical school a plus, but not requiredMinimum of three (3) years experience in quality assurance or inspection preffered (preferably in an aerospace environment is a plus)Proficiency with standard measurement equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)Technical drawing and document interpretation skills requiredBasic computer skills are requiredSpecial Tasks and Focus Areas:
Perform visual, dimensional, and 1st article inspection on rubber and composite components
Inspect molded product to blueprint and specification requirementsInspect sub-assembly and piece part components
Generate and assemble document packages for shipment
Request, review, generate and approve certifications for components to specification requirementsGenerate necessary data packages to customer requirements
Monitor calibration cycles of process and test equipment
Review test equipment for necessary service and validation intervals
Maintain clean and organized work area and files
Keep orderly and organized records and reference specifications
Control and maintain inspection suppliesSupport quality assurance functions throughout the facility
Perform 1st article and PLT inspectionsPerform inspections in other departments when applicableWork requested overtime as necessary to support Operations
Support Customer Source Inspections through interaction with Customer representative including answering questions and providing documentation.
