Our rapidly-growing ADU design-build company is in need of a highly productive, full-time CAD drafter to bring our clients' ADU dreams to life! You’ll serve as our primary architectural drafter and produce original, computer-generated designs in 2D and 3D. Additional responsibilities include meeting with clients, integrating feedback, and revising designs as requested. Communication skills are a must in this role, as you’ll be regularly communicating the design progress to the construction team. Applicants should be experienced design engineers who enjoy highly detailed work, are passionate about working on a project from start to finish, and want to grow their career in the residential construction industry. Attend initial client meeting to get an idea of the scope of the projectGenerate 2D and 3D schematic designs using CAD or Revit software, ensuring clients' specifications are metDraft construction drawings – architectural and possibly structuralCommunicate progress to designer and construction team to ensure efficient workflowSubmit plans and applications to local agencies and help ensure efficient expediting, making needed corrections in an efficient mannerMaintain regular communication with team members, consultants and city officials during the plan check processGenerate rendering and presentation drawingsCollaborate with construction team members to ensure maximum value engineering and to establish budgets and timelinesQualifications
Advanced knowledge of CAD and Revit softwareKnowledge of rendering software such as LumionProductivity oriented and able to efficiently complete a high volume of projects thoroughlyAble to be responsible for multiple small-scale projects at various stages of developmentKnowledge of construction techniques used for typical residential ground-up constructionHas access to a vast library of architectural and structural details for residential constructionA minimum 4 years of experience in draftingBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in architecture, engineering, construction engineering, drafting, etc.Knowledge of the ADU industry and/or experience with ADU design is a big plusLife-long learner who is eager to stay up-to-date on evolving drafting needs and architectural technologiesDetail-oriented with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skillsAble to learn new concepts and software quicklyCompensation
