We’re seeking a Digital Platforms Producer to join the MSNBC Digital team.You will have a deep understanding of what drives conversations online. You will have excellent news judgment, strong writing, copy editing skills and video cutting skills, a keen understanding of journalistic standards and a passion for the MSNBC brand, its shows and its on-air hosts. As a producer on the MSNBC platforms team, you will help oversee MSNBC’s homepage, app, newsletters and social media channels. You will be on the frontlines every day, making sure that MSNBC’s platforms are accurate and dynamic.If you are comfortable with responsibility and passionate about the news, this job is for you.This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.Responsibilities:Write and test eye-catching and accurate headlines that spark engagementWrite and help send app alertsProduce and send MSNBC’s marquee newslettersProduce and maintain the MSNBC homepageIdentify and produce shareable news content for social media platformsProduce editorial and breaking news content for multiple platforms (video, text, photo, live streams)Fact-check text, captions and ensure all photo, video meet the content, quality, journalistic and legal standards of MSNBCCreate and produce graphics and photo posts with headlines for InstagramPartner and collaborate with show producers, writers, MSNBC contributors, on daily editorial content for platformsCollaborate across teams on special events, high profile interviews for strategic social rolloutsPLEASE NOTE : This role is hybrid, with 3 days in office required. Schedule is 2-10pm, Wednesday-Sunday.Qualifications

At least 4 years experience in a digital newsroom, preferably with experience publishing on owned and/or social platformsAt least 4 years of political producing/writing experienceExpert knowledge of all social media platforms, their audiences and social media trendsProficiency in Adobe Premiere, in-app editing, CapCutDemonstrable experience producing eye-catching graphicsExperience in turning breaking news into vertical content for social platformsCreate and produce graphics, photos with headlines for Instagram (expert with Figma, Adobe Photoshop)Self-starter - ability to enterprise ideas, ideate daily pitches, shoot video when needed, and work well independently.Work professionally in changing and challenging situations and be able to react quickly under rapid deadlinesHave a good attitude (eager, cooperative, energetic, team-oriented)Must be willing and able to work flexible hours and different shifts for breaking news (evenings, weekends)Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United StatesAble to work in New York, NY or Washington, D.C.This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
