DescriptionSenior Philanthropy Officer - Swedish First HillSCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours per week. Department runs 7 days a week, 365 a year. Scheduled hours will be 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Mondays to Fridays on a hybrid set up (3 days per week in office work and 2 days per week work from home)The Senior Philanthropy Officer works to secure major gifts for one or more priority Institutes or Enterprises with a primary focus on gifts $50,000 and above. Works with senior leaders to ensure fundraising priorities align with strategic plans and donor interests. This position is part of a team whose mission is to increase giving to Swedish and to the assigned Institutes or Enterprises at the $50,000+ levels through activities designed to engage physicians and volunteers in the development of strategies to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective donors.Essential FunctionsThe job duties listed are essential functions of the position. However, other duties may be assigned, and may also be considered essential functions of the position.Works closely with the Foundation Leadership, Foundation Board, Administrators and Physician groups to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies for one or more Swedish priority Institutes or Enterprises with a goal to increase giving at the $50,000+ level.

Directs and participates in the face-to-face cultivation and solicitation of $50,000+ gifts, including managing a portfolio of donors, identifying, qualifying and cultivating new prospects.

Works with the Sr. Director and physician and administrative leadership to identify appropriate fundraising priorities that align with institutional strategic plans and with the interests of prospective donors. Assists in developing prospect lists and fundraising strategies for priority projects.

Collaborates effectively with Stewardship, Annual Giving, Event and Foundation Communications colleagues to advance sophisticated, donor-centered and effective major gift strategies.

Develops a keen understanding of the assigned area and interprets complex medical information for a lay audience. Coaches team members in the interpretation of this information for a lay audience.

Required qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent educ/experience

7 years of Development or sales experience.

Experience in a major, decentralized institution, preferably health care or higher education.
