This position will work off-site at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center at least 3 days per week.This position provides high-level project design, statistical programming, and data analysis support for large multi-institutional prostate cancer research studies. This position will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes clinicians, statisticians, epidemiologists, and bench scientists.POSITION COMPLEXITIESThis position will independently apply advanced knowledge of scientific research principles and requires high-level knowledge of various methodological strategies and statistical programming expertise. This individual must also keep abreast of new statistical techniques and developments in statistical and applications programming - specifically those techniques used to conduct biomarker and translational research, and be able to advise scientist colleagues on the best methods for particular projects and analyses.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCollaborate with stakeholders in the design of research projects.Identify methodological approaches and build statistical models for data analysis using R, SAS, and other necessary programming platforms. Serve as an expert on the analysis of large longitudinal datasets.Prepare appropriate data analysis, including tables, graphs, and written work in a timely fashion.Write data handling programs that best facilitate data linkage, transfers, and analyses.Collaborate on academic presentations and co-authorship of publications.Manage project priorities and timelines.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSThis position requires a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Statistics, or equivalent graduate-level training AND a minimum of three years’ experience in statistical analysis and modeling.Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires high-level knowledge of various methodological strategies and statistical programming expertise including a demonstrated ability to program in both SAS and R.This individual must be able to advise scientist colleagues on the best methods for particular projects and analyses.They must have strong writing skills, interpersonal skills, a high level of organization, and enthusiasm for working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Experience with project management is beneficial but not required.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSPhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or equivalent.Experience with survival analysis methods and various regression models.Knowledge of or general interest in oncology research or Urology.Experience with REDCap and R or STATA.Experience working with junior faculty and trainees.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTRegular and predictable attendance is required.Application Process:
