team!The Design Manager II reports to the Terminal Refresh Project Manager and is responsible for the delivery of all Terminal Refreshes and the CTA designs performed by various designers under different contracts. These scopes are a combination of small interior renovations, departure level curbside upgrades and the creation of a warm vanilla shell. The characteristics of the candidate shall include experience within large campus environments (aviation, transportation, higher education campuses, etc.). The individual shall be driven to support the design team and its leaders in their efforts and be proactive in expressing opinions of perceived betterment for the greater good of the project.Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field10 years or more experience in managing the design of large, complex building projects, utilities and infrastructure improvements, preferably on airport projectsDesign management of complex aviation improvements experience requiredExperience managing a team of design professionalsExperience with projects more than $100 million in value.Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/BuildProven ability to perform in a management capacityExperience in BluebeamPreferred Qualifications

Ability to work in CAD or REVIT a plusCommunication and organizational skills to be collaborative with many data points and people is highly desirable.Duties & Responsibilities

Manage a multi-disciplined team of planners, architects, engineers, and other professionals to guide the planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, and activation of various airport capital improvement projectsCoordinate with Clients & Stakeholders to develop a Business Case for potential Capital ProjectsDevelop and present preliminary design-alternatives and comparative-analysis to address requests and/or concerns from client leadership and/or project stakeholders throughout the planning & design processReview planning & design submittals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to the applicable project requirements, and provide meaningful & constructive feedback to the planning & design team.Solicit feedback from internal and external project stakeholders, and guide design teams through competing interests and projects constraints to ensure the best possible outcomes with respect to quality, cost, schedule, sustainability, resiliency, innovation, user-experience, constructability, operational flexibility, maintainability, etc.Manage planning & design efforts throughout all stages of a project (Project Definition, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, Construction Administration) to ensure that projects fulfill their mission, while remaining on-schedule and on-budget.Facilitate smooth transitions as projects advance from planning through design, procurement, construction, and activation.Manage design efforts across multiple projects to ensure a cohesive architectural statement and user-experience throughout the client campus.$121,000 - $140,000 a year.
