About the Role
We are seeking an Accounting Manager with a strong background in audits to join this dynamic and growing real estate company. This newly created role will lead audits consolidated entities and provide critical oversight of accounting functions across various departments and divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead audits for entities, ensuring thorough and accurate financial assessments
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and maintain robust supporting documentation
- Manage external audits, fostering positive relationships with auditors
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close procedures
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Provide expert financial accounting guidance across the organization
- Stay current with new accounting pronouncements and implement policies as needed
- Analyze financial data to drive improved systems and performance
- Collaborate with senior leadership on corporate financial decisions and strategic projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree preferred
- 4+ years of progressive experience in Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting (US GAAP)
- Extensive audit experience, preferably with Big 4 accounting firm
- Real estate industry experience a plus
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in accounting systems
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Familiarity with ERP software systems
