Our funds invest in many types of transactions, including, leveraged buy outs, distressed debt, venture capital and real estate.Role Overview:Due to the significant growth and expansion of our firm, we are currently seeking talented individuals to join the Performance Reporting Group (PRG) located in either our Coral Gables, Boston, or London office. We are looking to hire either an Analyst or a Senior Analyst, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.The successful candidate will join a strong team that plays an integral role in analyzing, evaluating, providing insights, and summarizing the performance of the investments, portfolios, and funds of the various platform strategies of HIG for both internal constituents and existing and potential investors. The team also conducts various ad hoc and pro forma analyses related to the performance of investments, portfolios, and funds and assists in the development of new fund products and strategies. The selected candidate will work closely with teams across the organization, including Capital Formation, Deal Teams, Investor Reporting and Services, Accounting, Operations, Valuation, and Senior Management. As part of the PRG, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact within the growing firm, gaining the necessary tools and exposure to advance and succeed in their career.Role Responsibilities:Calculate gross, net and pro forma IRRs, TWRs, Multiples and other performance and financial statistics and ratiosMaintain, own, and prepare various attribution reports, investor reports, performance metrics reports, and track recordsEngage directly with senior leadership, capital formation and deal teams to produce and deliver valuable insightsDevelop and enhance data extracts and report templates to accurately and efficiently aggregate data to analyze investments and fundsConduct as needed various ad hoc and pro forma analytics at the investment, portfolio, and fund levelAssist with special projects to standardize and enrich data across the platform to create meaningful reportingActively monitor activity of investments and fund performance to ensure changes are accurately reflected in reports.Model fund and strategy returns with pro forma and sensitivity analyses for Deal Teams and Senior ManagementRequirements & Qualifications:3-10 years of relevant experience in finance, business analytics, or investment operations, preferably within financial services (banking, private equity, hedge fund, etc.)Accounting, Finance or STEM degree with a strong academic record, achievement of graduate degree or advanced certifications (e.g., CFA)Experience with calculating performance and financial ratios for private equity, private credit and/or real asset portfoliosExperience with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) preferredDistressed debt or direct lending experience, specifically term loans, revolvers, total return swaps, mezzanine debt and public and private bonds a plusAdvanced Excel skills capable of conceptualizing, developing, and enhancing/modifying complex and sophisticated modelsStrong data/systems skills capable of working with large data sets and skillfully using tools to extract, aggregate, and manipulate data to get accurate results in an efficient and organized mannerTakes full accountability and ownership of work product and leads by example in areas of attitude, attention to detail, urgency, process improvement and quality of workStrong planning and organizational skills with ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic environment while handling multiple projectsEffective communicator (verbally and written) that can engage directly with senior members of the team as well as with external parties and build working relationships across various departments at all levelsSelf-motivated problem solver demonstrating strong critical reasoning, analytical and detail-oriented attributes; Be able to think out of the boxTeam player with a positive attitude ability to roll up the sleeves in delivering results within tight deadlines in a team-oriented environmentAbility to multi-task and demonstrate change agility with an evolving workload and communicate upwards when competing priorities ariseExperience with FIS VPM, Investran, and IVP Polaris or similar portfolio accounting systems, a plus
