We are seeking a talented Associate Attorney specializing in Land Use/Zoning to join our growing legal team.
This position is an exciting opportunity for an Attorney who has a deep understanding of land use, land acquisition, zoning, entitlements, variances, and permitting. The successful candidate will have the chance to work on a wide range of complex land use and zoning matters and will be instrumental in assisting clients with navigating the challenges of land development and utilization.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal counsel on all land use and zoning matters, including but not limited to land acquisition, entitlements, variances, and permitting.
- Represent clients before zoning boards, planning commissions, and city councils.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex land use agreements and contracts.
- Conduct extensive legal research and prepare memoranda on various land use and zoning issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal land use and zoning regulations.
- Develop strategies and solutions to resolve complex land use and zoning disputes.
- Advise clients on the potential impacts of new or proposed land use laws and regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations related to land use and zoning.
Your Qualifications:
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the OR state bar and in good standing.
- A minimum of 1+ years of experience in land use and zoning law, with a strong background in land acquisition, entitlements, variances, and permitting.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex land use and zoning matters with minimal supervision.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal land use and zoning laws and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proven track record of providing superior client service.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
