Machine Operator Helper Needed

Shift- 1st shift 6am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday

Rate: 16.50 hourly

Essential Job Functions:
  • Change out tubs at machine. Weigh tub to get correct piece count and weight. Record and return information to operator.
  • Deliver Raw Material to Headers as required.
  • Help clean and organize machines.
  • Assist in the Setup and operation of headers/boltmakers as needed.
  • Use of gages and measuring instruments are required to make sure parts conform to specification.
  • Determine and locate required tooling to manufacture part. Put all required tools and load on a setup cart and deliver to proper machine. Verify condition of tooling. The above listed items must be done prior to the start of the setup.
  • Check product frequently with required measuring tools and record on inspection log sheet.
  • As needed, Sort tub/basket to remove any non-conforming parts.
  • Assist in tearing down setup after job is complete.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures. Report any unsafe condition to your supervisor immediately.
  • Learn and practice preventative maintenance on machinery and tooling to protect from damage and loss. Report any conditions requiring repair to your supervisor.
  • Clean machine and work area daily. Keep area clean and orderly, floor around machine must be kept free of oil.
  • Perform any other general tasks as may be directed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience or on the job training.
  • Ability to read blue prints.
  • Communication skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret documents.
  • Mathematical skills:
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
    • Ability to use and read measuring devises.
  • Reasoning skills:
    • Ability to define and solve problems.
  • Physical demands:
  • Ability to lift and/or push over 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to hear and talk.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand and walk.
  • Frequent use of hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required included close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • A bility to work in an environment where the temperature fluctuates depending on the weather outside.
