Responsibilities: Responsible for establishing, verifying, and maintaining accurate record title ownership of oil and gas properties. This includes creating and managing revenue and joint interest billing divisions for both company-operated and non-operated wells, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Duties:
- Maintain and validate accurate title ownership records for oil and gas properties by setting up revenue and joint interest billing division of interests.
- Analyze and interpret various legal documents such as deeds, leases, assignments, probate records, contracts, division orders, joint operating agreements, and court decrees related to property ownership.
- Review title opinions, unitization orders, and pooling declarations to ensure accurate title records.
- Create and maintain well title ownership decks in the Land system and calculate divisions of interest using Excel spreadsheets.
- Process ownership changes by updating records based on new deeds, leases, and assignments.
- Research and resolve title issues for suspended interest owners and respond to inquiries from interest owners.
- Collaborate with internal teams across Land, Operations, Lease Records, Accounting, and Marketing to ensure smooth communication and resolution of title-related issues.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the Land system and assist with the development of processes and training initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and ensure timely completion of work to meet contractual and statutory requirements.
- Professionally communicate with external stakeholders, including royalty and working interest owners.
- Support the department by gathering and analyzing data for the acquisition or divestiture of company interests.
Skills:
- Strong analytical abilities with extensive knowledge of land titles and oil and gas property ownership.
- Ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and solve complex title-related issues.
- Proficiency in interpreting legal documents and contracts related to property ownership.
- Skilled in using Excel and Land management systems for tracking and calculating ownership interests.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, both internally and externally.
- Experience with corporate control functions and adherence to policies and procedures.
