Job Details

The Client Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations and accounting functions for multiple clients within the firm. This role will involve preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate client records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a client-focused approach to delivering timely and accurate financial services.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned clients, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

Account Reconciliation: Perform bank and account reconciliations, ensuring that all discrepancies are identified, investigated, and resolved.

General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and manage the general ledger, posting journal entries and adjusting entries as needed.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections for clients.

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) for clients, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

Client Communication: Serve as the primary contact for clients regarding their financial matters, addressing any questions, concerns, or issues related to their accounts.

Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits, providing requested documentation and supporting the audit process for client accounts.

Compliance and Tax Filings: Ensure all client financial practices comply with relevant regulations and assist with tax filings or provide information to tax advisors as needed.

Software Management: Utilize accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI) to manage and report on client finances. Provide recommendations for improving accounting processes through software enhancements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2-4 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a client-facing role.

Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and principles (GAAP).

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Strong verbal and written communication skills for client interactions.

Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet deadlines.

Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or equivalent certification.

Experience working in the real estate, property management, or professional services industries.

Familiarity with tax regulations and filing procedures for client organizations.

Working Conditions:

This is primarily an office-based role, with occasional travel to client sites if required.
