Job DetailsResponsibilities
As a Permanent Attorney, your primary duties will include:
- Representing clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
- Selecting jurors, arguing motions, meeting with judges, and questioning witnesses during the course of a trial.
- Studying constitutions, statutes, decisions, and ordinances of quasi-judicial bodies to determine ramifications for cases.
- Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Conducting legal research and gathering evidence.
- Ensuring that appropriate legal documents are drafted and executed.
- Negotiating settlements of civil disputes.
- Supervising legal assistants and junior attorneys, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Maintaining professional competence by participating in continuing education and professional development courses, staying updated on current legislation and changes in the legal industry.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- A current license to practice law.
- A minimum of 1 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in the defense sector.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, judges, and opposing counsel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound legal arguments.
- Excellent research skills, with a thorough understanding of legal principles and procedures.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- The ability to handle a high volume of cases and work under pressure.
- Proficiency in legal research software and other relevant computer applications.
