The Material Handler receives, stocks, and issues materials to various shops and field-based locations as required by Supervisor or other Supply Chain leadership. Ensures inventory accuracy and availability by exercising diligence when handling all inventory items. Maintains a productive, safe, and respectful work environment within the Inventory/Supply Chain areas by following processes outlined in the appropriate company manuals. Remains continuously engaged in seeking improved methods to meet or exceed customer requirements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Expediting:Delivers materials to Shops and transfers materials between Shops via a scheduled delivery systemUtilizes material moving equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, fork lift, or vehicle) or transfers by handReceiving:Receives inventory according to processes outlined the appropriate company manualsUses Columbia's ERP system to perform task functionStocks materials by using various means such as hand truck, pallet jack, and fork liftProperly prepares and packages items to be stocked to ensure accuracy and availabilityStocks the materials in the correct locations as indicated in company's ERP system ensuring availabilityProcesses the necessary documents to receive inventory accurately into stockParts Picking:Follows the processes for picking as outlined in appropriate company manualsPulls materials by using the various electronic documents generated by company's ERP systemPulls materials by using various means such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forkliftsEnsures that the materials picked are equal to what is requestedCompletes tasks in a reasonable amount of time to ensure desired productivityShop and Field Support:Assists internal customers with matters within the scope of the Inventory DepartmentAnswers questions accurately and expeditiously by verbal, written, and electronic meansDelivers materials as requested by using various means including company vehicles and equipmentDelivers freight to venders, freight forwarders, and internal customers' jobsitesPromotes a customer service oriented environmentInventory Department:Maintains inventory accuracy and availabilityAssists on a company's cycle countUse company's ERP system to maintain inventory accuracyMaintains a clean and professional department that promotes continuous improvementConducts oneself in accordance with company's Core ValuesOther duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED1-2 years' cycle count experience or equivalent, desired but not required1-2 years' warehouse experience, receiving, picking, and pulling orders, desired but not requiredMaintains a valid Driver's licenseAbility to work independently and in a team-oriented environmentAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentAbility to work overtime as needed including providing after-hours supportSolid organizational skills with attention to detailSolid written and verbal communication skills to be able to present ideas, concepts, and proposals to a wide range and level of internal and external audiencesSolid interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a good working relationship with team members, departments, warehouses, and other stakeholders.Basic Microsoft Office applications skills,Experience with an ERP preferredExperience driving a forklift preferred, or the ability to be trained and certified within 3 monthsWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual origin, gender identity, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
