The CAS Accounting Sr. Manager
will be responsible for overseeing the organization's compliance with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and government regulations. Key responsibilities include managing the preparation and review of CAS disclosure statements, ensuring proper cost allocation and accounting practices, and overseeing audits related to CAS compliance. The role also involves providing guidance to internal teams, staying current on CAS regulations, and coordinating with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with federal contracting requirements.

Core Responsibilities
Establish, maintain and document accounting policies and procedures to help ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DFARS, and CAS; implement a system of controls and audits over accounting transactions to minimize risk Develop and prepare Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) disclosure statement (DS-1) to ensure compliance with federal regulations, accurately documenting the organization's accounting practices, cost allocation methods, and ensuring alignment with government contracting requirements Prepare periodic financial reports and ensure that the reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and other relevant financial reporting standards Develop and manage business and accounting processes, tools, analysis, and reporting to generate and oversee financial statements, revenue forecasts, cash flow forecasts, budgets, reconciliations, and other key business and financial performance metrics Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation and prepare annual company budget in consultation with senior management in compliance with regulatory requirements Support all accounting functions, including financial reporting, billing, payroll, purchasing, budget preparation, cash management, general ledger management, and business accounting practices Prepare for and manage all external audit requirements, including DCAA Incurred Cost Submissions, Accounting System Audits, Insurance Audits, Tax Audits, and other financial audits Identify and resolve issues promptly, ensuring the company's financial analyses and statements comply with regulations and accepted accounting principles Gather and analyze information skillfully while developing alternative solutions. Responsibilities must be carried out accurately and promptly to support senior leadership, corporate policies, and overall company goals Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements: 8+ years of experience Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field Technical Requirements: Highly proficient with accounting best practices Firm knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations and utilize information in written reports Additional Requirements: Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams Travel Requirements Must be willing to travel as required. (~20%) Location Requirements Greater Washington D.C. Area (flexibility to work hybrid schedule) Security Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen. Active Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications
Education Requirements: ERP implementation experience (e.g., DelTek, Netsuite, or similar) Experience with assisting in contract negotiations and closures Expertise in guiding program team and their budgets developing ETC/EAC Experience working at a high growth company, supporting BD/capture teams, and developing pricing proposals CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
$160,000 - $230,000 a year
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $160,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $230,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. EpiSci is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
