Position Overview
Our client, a growing company in the
Washington, DC Metro Area , is seeking an
Accounting Manager
to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will manage general ledger processes, financial statements, and compliance, while working closely with senior leadership to provide financial insights that support decision-making. The candidate will work
on-site 3 days a week .
Key Responsibilities
Oversee
day-to-day accounting operations , including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll. Lead the
month-end close process , ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with
GAAP
and other regulatory standards, maintaining strong internal controls. Prepare and analyze
financial reports
to provide insights to senior leadership for decision-making. Collaborate with the finance team on
budgeting, forecasting , and variance analysis to support strategic financial planning. Manage
financial audits , working closely with external auditors to ensure accurate and compliant reporting. Identify opportunities for
process improvements
and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ensure
tax compliance
by managing tax filings and other regulatory requirements. Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of
high performance
and continuous improvement. Qualifications
Proven experience as an
Accounting Manager
or senior accounting professional. Strong knowledge of
GAAP , financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience managing
month-end close processes , financial statements, and audits. Proficiency in financial software and
Microsoft Excel . Excellent
leadership and communication skills , with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence senior leadership. Bachelor's degree
in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA preferred. Compensation and Benefits
Base salary ranging from
$125,000 to $145,000
per year, depending on experience. Performance-based bonus
