In anticipated future growth among our Business Intelligence / Data & Analytics team, Orangetheory Fitness will be accepting applications for our Business Intelligence Analyst (Pool) position. As part of the Business Intelligence team, this data and analytics professional will partner with business leaders across the organization to surface key metrics and unlock vital insights that drive data-informed decisions and guide business strategy. Our Business Intelligence team is business savvy, think critically, comfortable querying data, and seek to apply analytical methods and statistics. They collaborate with our data engineers to develop rich datasets that make it easy to answer pertinent questions. They also convert insights into better day-to-day decisions through the use of reports, models, and automation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting & Analytics Analyze business questions and communicate findings through briefs, presentations, reports or other media. Clarify and document the questions, how findings may be used, and the analysis approach. Conduct impact analyses, leading to a deeper understanding of business performance; the member experience and fitness results. Work with data engineers to augment existing datasets with metrics and categorizations that make it easier to answer common business and analysis questions and publish proper reports. Build the company knowledge base of data-informed insights, documenting findings and promoting and communicating those findings through appropriate internal channels. Develop internal and external documentation and training on Analytics products, such as dashboards, reports, KPI's, source data collection and transformation, data lineage and suggested use cases. Performance Expectations Well versed in most of the functionality our BI platforms offer and able to make efficient use of them. Familiarity with analytical methods- Ex. statistical significance, distributions, independent and dependent probabilities, confidence intervals etc. to answer business questions. Being able to ask questions to fully understand the context and business question asked and how answering it will make a difference. Occasionally, help is required from senior analyst or manager to frame the problem. Choose or propose a path of inquiry that is logical and coherent. Typically, makes accurate inferences from the data, which may require some help from more senior analysts or manager to validate conclusions. Identify key assumptions around perceived or real business problems and validates them before proceeding with the analysis Present findings in an easy-to-understand way for business stakeholders, using COE practices. Share and document approach and findings, making sure the rest of the team has visibility and can build on them. Is recognized by business stakeholders as contributing to their decision-making processes or improving their operations. Make accurate inferences from data. Know what the data says and what it doesn't say and is transparent about shortcomings of the data. Suggests further analysis paths if the answer is not sufficiently conclusive. Show interest and can speak the language of the business domain they are supporting (e.g., marketing, finance, operations). When presenting findings business stakeholders follow REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, business administration, economics, or related field with a focus on logic and quantitative analysis. MBA or experience in or with specific business functions is a plus. Minimum 1 year of experience in reporting and analysis. Can demonstrate how to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders outside of the field of analytics. Proficiency in querying and manipulating data using SQL. Know how to use subqueries, window and analytic functions, regular expressions. On the job experience with Python, R or similar languages is a plus. Experience creating solutions using Power BI or any comparable data visualization tool Understanding of data visualization best practices Basic understanding of statistics (sampling, statistical significance). Exposure to Data Warehouse principles and basic understanding of data modeling concepts and methodologies SKILLS & ABILITIES Well organized. Thinks about how to do the work, then acts. Seeks to contextualize the work. Demonstrates understanding of which analytic methods to use to answer certain types of questions. Good interpersonal skills, seeks to understand others' viewpoints, motivations, ways of thinking. Shows curiosity about the industry and can explain how Orangetheory is differentiated. Can articulate Orangetheory's goals and strategic imperatives. Respectfully challenges others' approach or viewpoints when making inferences from data that are not logically or methodologically sound. Able to contrast meaningful and poor metrics or KPI's. Can identify common biases that affect what questions are asked, which data is looked at and how results are interpreted SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS This position does not directly manage employees.
