RN- ICU

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights, including weekends and holidays (No on-call) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent critical care experience License: Active MD or Compact State RN License in good standing Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - must be American Heart Association. CSC certification is preferred, but not required. Must-Have: - Basic knowledge of Vasopressors, Fibrinolytics, Antiarrhythmics, Paralytics, and Antihypertensive agents. - Will independently manage patient care, but not alone on unit. - Permanent address must be outside of 100 miles from the facility. Job Description: - Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with diagnoses including Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Craniotomy, Pneumonia, Hypothermia, Trauma, Sepsis, and ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI). - Utilize essential equipment such as computers, vitals machines, IV pumps, ventilators, Bipap/CPAP, Vigileo, Swan-Ganz, balloon pumps, cooling blankets, Hoyer lifts, Camino monitors, tube feeding pumps, sequential compression devices, foot pumps, defibrillators, Train of Four monitors, and Dopplers. - Managing nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3, based on patient needs. - Adhere to dress code by wearing navy scrubs. - Participate in every-other-week orientation sessions. Orientation period does not guarantee hours. - May float to other critical care units, such as Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Cardiothoracic ICU, if census is low. - Possess and maintain active BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
