Our client, a reputable non-profit organization based in Arlington, VA, is seeking a highly qualified VP of Accounting & Finance to join their leadership team. This role offers a hybrid working environment, blending flexibility with on-site collaboration!
The VP of Accounting & Finance will lead the finance and accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of all financial operations. This includes overseeing the development and management of budgets, financial reporting, and employee benefit plans. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in progressively responsible roles within accounting, finance, and budgeting, particularly within employee benefit plan administration. The VP of Accounting & Finance will report directly to the CFO, while leading and directing the Finance and Accounting Team, which provides comprehensive finance and accounting services related to the organization's complex multiple employer health & welfare and retirement plans (the "Plans") with over $25 billion in net assets.

VP, Accounting and Finance Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support organizational goals.
- Manage the preparation and presentation of financial reports.
- Oversee employee benefit plans and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial practices with organizational strategy.
- Serves as a key executive in the Finance department by working with other Finance leaders, participating in decisions affecting other finance units and performing special projects.
VP, Accounting and Finance Required Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Accounting/ Business Administration
- CPA required
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, and budgeting, with a focus on employee benefit plans required
- Prior experience in Public Accounting and in the Employee Benefit Plan Administration industry (Group Insurance Plans and Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution Retirement Plans) and an in-depth knowledge and understanding of ERISA regulations and financial compliance
- 5+ years management experience
- Experience serving as a financial advisor to executive management and Board of Directors.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Base Salary: $280,000-$300,000
