Job Description

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise and the ability to develop effective systems and processes. This role requires discipline, flexibility, and adaptability. Key competencies include general ledger accounting, project accounting, compliance, and audits. The Senior Accountant will act as a vital liaison between the accounting/finance department and other business units. Familiarity with GAAP and business reporting is essential, along with strong interpersonal skills, analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Our client is seeking someone who can work independently and thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage deadlines related to accounting, compliance, interim and year-end audit preparation, and special projects.
  • Provide accurate accounting and financial reporting for assigned business areas, including monthly journal entries, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
  • Meet regularly with business leaders to review results, operational metrics, and provide recommendations.
  • Develop industry-specific analyses for risk management.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate invoice coding and processing.
  • Proactively resolve coding errors and discrepancies to maintain accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries, expense accruals, and GAAP adjustments.
  • Understand key financial components such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and profit margins.
  • Prepare monthly GAAP financial statements, both consolidated and standalone.
  • Develop detailed reconciliation and support schedules for month-end close and annual audits.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to address business process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems, such as Sage Intacct or Netsuite.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong time-management skills and adaptability to shifting priorities.
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools, such as Workday Adaptive Planning, is preferred.
  • Experience in the renewable energy or power sectors is advantageous.

Travel and Work Environment

  • Hybrid work model, requiring 1 day on-site per week with occassional travel for business meetings.

Compensation: $85,000-$115,000 depending on experience
